Former Eagle Donte' Stallworth has been told by the New England Patriots that he will not recieve his 6 million dollar roster bonus, which would make Stallworth a free agent. Stallworth had a decent year for the Pats, catching 46 passes for 697 yards and 3 touchdowns. His role with the team clearly lessened as the year went on, and by the playoffs another former Eagle, Jabar Gaffney, got more snaps.
Stallworth should be on the Eagles radar. If the Eagles miss out on the top flight guys that might be available, like Larry Fitzgerald or Chad Johnson, then Stallworth is part of the second tier of receivers that the Eagles should target, along with Bernard Berrian and D.J. Hackett. Stallworth would welcome a return to Philadelphia, if the money is right. He strikes me as the kind of guy who will play anywhere if they show him the money.
