Those hoping that Kevin Kolb would only start one game for the Eagles this season are going to be disappointed: Donovan McNabb will likely miss another week. According to SI's Peter King, McNabb will be sitting out once again next week when the Chiefs come to Philly to take on the Eagles.
Letting McNabb rest for another week makes sense especially when you consider the Eagles have a bye in Week 4. Giving McNabb what will amount to three weeks off to let his ribs heal ensures that he will be as close to 100% when he returns as possible. It also doesn't hurt that Kevin Kolb looked respectable as a starter and that the Chiefs are a weak team that the Birds should be able to handle no matter who is under center.
The wildcard in the mix starting in Week 3 will be the return of Michael Vick, who will be eligible to play against the Chiefs. With how much the Eagles ran the Wildcat offense in Week 2, you can bet they will work Vick into the mix quite a bit. The odd man out will once again be Jeff Garcia, who will suit up as the third string quarterback. With how well Kolb played against the Saints, you can bet Garcia will be shown the door as soon as McNabb comes back.
It's still remarkable that the Eagles have three former Pro Bowl quarterbacks on the roster and yet none of them will be starting for them in Weeks 2 or 3. While I was impressed with what Kolb showed us on Sunday, I'm still going to welcome McNabb back with open arms. He's the key to this team making a Super Bowl run this year so him getting healthy is of the utmost importance. With all this rest he should be primed and ready to go in Week 5 when the Birds take on the Bucs.

Yeah, someone who throws for nearly 400 yards against an NFL defense must really suck. Geez, give Kolb a break. It was his first NFL start, how can you ask for more?
