It's cutdown day but the Eagles have just acquired a new player, trading a 7th round pick in 2011 to the Ravens for DE Antwan Barnes. Barnes, a 3 year NFL veteran who was listed as a linebacker with the Ravens, has played in 38 games in his career and amassed 5 sacks and 37 tackles. His acquisition likely means that one of the fringe linebackers or defensive ends, like Moise Fokou or Darryl Tapp, could get cut today. It's likely the Eagles plan to use Barnes, a solid speed rusher, in the "Joker" role, a role that Fokou never quite looked comfortable in.
Barnes might be most notable for a hit he put on Eagles punter Sav Rocca in a 2007 preseason game:
