After the two huge trades, we knew it was a matter of time before this was announced: according to TSN, the Flyers have signed Ilya Brygalov to a 9 year, 51 million dollar contract. He will have a cap hit worth 5.67 million dollars per year, a nice value considering he wanted 7 million per year.
The Flyers have made a statement today: no longer will their goaltending be the laughing stock of the NHL. They dealt away two huge pieces to get it done but the Flyers have solidified the goalie position for the first time in many years. Let's hope they have enough pieces left around Bryzgalov to still be an elite team.
