Ever since John Harbaugh left, the Eagles have underachieved on special teams. The Birds ST constantly commits penalties and never seem to get any good field position on kickoff returns. In an effort to shore things up, the Eagles announced today that they have fired Special Teams Coordinator Ted Daisher and replaced him with former Bills ST coach Bobby April.
Daisher seemed to be a misfit in Philly and never meshed with Andy Reid. It's pretty telling that he was fired despite having two special teams players (DeSean Jackson, David Akers) make the Pro Bowl this year.
April, on the other hand, is well-respected throughout the league. He was recently fired after the Bills cleaned house but was being pursued by several teams before the Eagles "swooped" in and signed him. April also had previously worked as ST coordinator for the Steelers, Saints and Rams. Hopefully this means the Eagles special teams will rise back to prominence.
Amiable brief and this enter helped me alot in my college assignement. Thanks you seeking your information.
