And just like that, Jeff Garcia is gone again.
To make room on their 53 man roster for Jeremiah Trotter, the Eagles have released quarterback Jeff Garcia. Garcia was brought in as insurance after Donovan McNabb's Week 1 injury but was never needed after Kevin Kolb stepped up. With McNabb likely healthy enough to start in Week 5 against the Bucs, the team no longer had a use for Garcia.
So ends Garcia's second stint with the Eagles. His departure comes with little fanfare as he got only a few snaps in garbage time against the Chiefs. I would expect him to catch on with another team at some point this season. Of course, there is always the possibility that Garcia comes back to Philly if McNabb gets hurt again. As much as I like Garcia, though, I hope that the Eagles don't ever need him again.
